OK, who else out there has a climate control in there eg with the stupid light that only lights up half the control... and then, when you punch it, it works, but then, when you slide the thing.. it doesn't work again??

That is the most annoying friggin thing in the world... worst part, the new climate control I got after it was broken into, when I punch it it does nothing.... now it's just permanent half lit.....

Just popped into my head so I thought I'd post it.

 

Yea, I got the same problem with mine. Anybody know how to fix it?

mine did that and then i hit it really hard and the one side wontcome back on for nothing. hahaha

 

just be happy yours lights up at all...I have to bust my hand on the dash just so I can get the gauge cluster to work

 

WHAT do you mean by eg exactly, i thought it reffered to the 5thgen hatch chassis type.

I figure for a $500 car I wont complain too much about lights that only come on sometimes...my complaint with the Civics is that the stupid lower control arm bolt snaps when you try and change the rear shocks...ahhh!

Next on the agenda is why the @#$% the windows in these cars fog up so easily in rain and snow....

You all know what I'm talking about. hehe

 

if they bother you that much, take them out and clean the metal part of the bulbs w/ alcohol...after i did that to mine it was fine...yeah i had that problem before which let me to some road rage...but now i have GTA3...

Ha Ha funny I came across this topic, I just like 5 minutes ago got done fixing mine. One of your bulbs is starting to go out, and let me tell you the climate control is a pain in the *** to get out and getting to that bulb is a bigger pain in the ***, but yeah to fix it you have to take out the climate control and then take apart the climate control and replace the bulb.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one with that problem.

Jdmb18c, don't even bother trying to find out what body code the EG really is. You will get so many different opinions, "facts" and "evidence" you won't know what to do with it....and you won't know anything more than you did before you asked.

The way I figure, my sig says that I have a '96 EX Coupe. I don't give a darn what the freakin body code is, my sig says everything that needs to be said.

 

Wow, I don't believe so many of you guys have this same problem too! I just tap mine several times and the light finally comes on, but then I move the slider or select another option and sometimes it goes off again.

If it is that hard to get to, then I'll just leave it alone.

 

That is exaclty what I used to do, tap the dash it goes on, move the temp and it goes off, hit a road dot on the freeway light goes back on, but I got real sick of it and had some spare time today so I started and got to that point where it was like "man this is gonna take forever but I have gone this far so I might as well finish"

 

I have that same problem on my EJ climate control, but only half the fan climate control lights up....it is really that hard to fix?

 

my window fogs so damn easily...and the passanger side doesnt even fog at all!!! how the hell do i fix this?
and my damn hatch light is always on...i close the hatch and after like 2 minutes its on again!!! dammmit!!!

 

Holy ****! mine does that exact same thing... the passenger side stay clear while my side fogs up... regardless of if I have a passenger or not!

My climate controls light did that on my 96 EX. If it was really cold outside it would work. Wierd?
Problem was that when it got cold my climate control light would work but my turn signal stalk would not turn the signal off after going through the corner. I always had to manually push the stalk back.
My wiper stalk also had problems. One day after pushing down on it something snapped and every time I hit a bump my wipers would come on. I had to shove a piece of rubber under the stalk to keep it from happening.
Anyone ever have that problem?

 

yea...i thought it was just that im a big guy and big guys give off alotta body heat...but my boy was in the car the other day and he is twice the size of me and it still didnt even fog...i dont get it...is there some kind of window spray that i could spray on to make it not fog???

Well let's put it this way, now that I did it once I know all the tricks to getting the climate control out, it was just figuring out the the little quirks it took to get it out.

 

It happens to my 92EG too, the light was ALL off on the climate control & when the car go over a speed bump or something, it will went back on, damn! How to pull out the climate control & what kind of bulb it use? I guess there are at least two bulbs if some of you are half way light up? Help me
