Hey well this might sound i dont know newbie "ish"
but ive seen and heard some talk about willard using the cheap-o replacment rotors from autozone i think there the autocraft brand.
my question is, is there a difference in longevity or performance of the cheap-o replacments and the stock oem honda, or say cobalt blank rotors.
I am curious because once in a while at like 70+ mph if i apply firm pressure on the breaks i feel a small vibration sometimes all the way down to say like 45 mph or so..
I was gonna do a brake upgrade anyhow for track events but before i bought new rotors.. if i even need new ones... i wanted to know whats the differnece, thanks in advance.
p.s. How do i tell if the rotors are slightly warped.?

by the shaking, your rotors are starting to warp. its not really visible from outside of the car. if it is, then its baddd newwws.
rotors are a wear item, thats probably why willard gets the cheapo ones, because its $25 or so (dont quote me on the price) for 1 or 2, i dont know. compared to however much the cobalt or OEM ones cost. i know brembo makes blanks. not sure of the price. but if you can get cobalt, oem, or brembos at the same price at the autozone, then im sure most people would go for brembo or cobalt.
plus i believe the autozone ones are warranted?and a tad thicker? the legend ones.

yes, i think there is a warrenty... so then the acura legend rotors are the same lug pattern as the hype R???
awsome.. well i see what your saying about the oem honda or brembo blanks.. but if they are that much more expensive **** i think ill just buy the cheap-o ones.

yah. the legend rotors will fit the hypeRs. not 100% if anything needs to be messed with.
from what i have read, the legend calipers are 2pistons, the itrs are 1.

Your rotors aren't warped. If they're warped, they shudder every time you brake, even when the rotors are cold. If the problem comes from uneven deposits on the surface of the rotors, they only shudder when you get them really heated up - like when you're slowing down fast from high speed. You can read more about it on Stoptech's website here. You can prevent this problem by following proper bedding procedures.
the autozone rotors, from what i've heard on the board, have a lifetime warranty. also, due to the fact that rotors are a wear item, it makes sense to go with a budget in mind. i honestly think that agressive pads + brake fluid will be enough for any of our track habits.

No, they don't. The $25 Autozone rotors currently have a two year warranty. They also have cheaper ($19) rotors that have a three month warranty.
Autozone's website is very good. It's easy to look up complete information (including warranty information) on most of their parts.

he's right. they used to have a lifetime warantee. not sure what happened to that. 2 year still isnt bad.

I agree. Then again, if brake rotors lasted me a reasonable number of track events before cracking, I would never return them to the store, even if there were a warranty. I just don't think that's right.

i hear that. but i dont know if anyone has return rotors all cracked up. im sure they would question you.
but if they have a decent lip on them, then maybe they would accept them. just act like you dont know anything about cars

I used AutoZone rotors for racing purposes for two years, and hpde/instruction track event since 2001 when the car was new. No complaints here. Use them, they work as good, if not better than any alternative I know of, and the price is unbeatable.

Willard Harris is what happened to that!
I used Autozone rotors and don't see any reason to use anything else at my stage of the game. I have used both the ones designed specifically for the ITR and the ones designed for the Legend.
Both work fine.
The Legend last a little bit longer...but not all that much longer, in my experience.
We could argue for a few hours about the teeny bit of extra weight in the Legend rotors and whether or not this helps with heat absorbtion/dissipation enough to be worth the weight.
Whichever one you use, the cheap Autozone rotors are fine.

Haha Willard showed me the way with brakes once at the track when I was a newbie. Because I went to the backing plates at that event I got Autozone rotors and they have been working great since.

I was wondering what it was now, that shouldn't be a problem. The daily driver has been on Autozone pads for a long time now.
