Default what clutch for a Y1 or YS1 tranny

I was tryin to replace my clutch yesterday on my lsd jap spec tranny. My conclusion is that the tranny is a YS1 or Y1 based on the short gearing and lsd. I have been previously told to get any 1.8 gsr or 99 to 00 civic si clutch. I bought that and the splines on the clutch disk are not right. The "vallys" on the splines come to a point on my previous clutch disk where as on all of the clutches we tried (I was at a dealer honda & acura) those vallys come to a flat surface. This causing the disk to have some play.

We tried matching it up with:
90 integra clutch
96 prelude
94-00 gsr & ls
some d seiries clutches
93-95 civic ex

Do I have to get a jap spec clutch for this thing? Previous clutch was made by clutch masters. Anybody experience this problem with their clutch or have the same tranny (YS1 or Y1)?

Assuming you have a first gen B16 with cable trans, why not try a 92-93 gsr as they are also cable

You'll have to figure out what tranny it is first. A Y1 and a YS1 feel VERY different (assuming the ys1 is a jdm b16 tranny or 92-93 GSR and not a usdm 92-93 LS)

S1,Y1,J1 and A1 all are "small" spline trannies and you would use a 90-91 Integra clutch disc.

The YS1 and all 94+ b series trannies are "large" spline and you can use a clutch disc for a 94-95 teg (being the easiest to look up at the parts store).

Get a pressure plate for whatever flywheel you are going to use. ( I am not sure on the flywheel differences but, it is minimal betweem b series.) Hope that helps .

Thats what I used on my YS1. The Y1 will be different, as hondaguyef said.
