I was tryin to replace my clutch yesterday on my lsd jap spec tranny. My conclusion is that the tranny is a YS1 or Y1 based on the short gearing and lsd. I have been previously told to get any 1.8 gsr or 99 to 00 civic si clutch. I bought that and the splines on the clutch disk are not right. The "vallys" on the splines come to a point on my previous clutch disk where as on all of the clutches we tried (I was at a dealer honda & acura) those vallys come to a flat surface. This causing the disk to have some play.
We tried matching it up with:
90 integra clutch
96 prelude
94-00 gsr & ls
some d seiries clutches
93-95 civic ex
Do I have to get a jap spec clutch for this thing? Previous clutch was made by clutch masters. Anybody experience this problem with their clutch or have the same tranny (YS1 or Y1)?
help me please!

I would try a 92-93 Integra clutch, it has a different spline design than the 90-91 YS1 from the Integra. 90-91 is small spline, while the 92-93 is larger. Beyond that, it would probably help to know what year and type the clutch is. I bet Clutchmasters could tell you what OEM part you would need based on the clutch they made.

Yea I was hopping to go into my call (it's sunday they're not there) with clutch masters with a little more info. The only clutch disk no one on this side of the planet (east coast US) seemed to have was a 92-93 integra.....thxs for your input
well, the 90-91 Integras did not have a YS1, that was only 92-93, and available in both long-gear (RS/LS/GS) and short-gear (GSR) models, none had a factory LSD. All clutch discs for pre-92 B-series trnnies use the same splines (smaller) and all 92+ B-series trannies use the same clutch discs (larger splines).
