Default Hey my vtec boggs out sometimes???

hey does low oil make your vtec bogg out.
FOr example lats friday i was racing a lil.
and at the end of the night.
when i make reaches vtec ( at around 5k rpm), my car boggs out. so i went home and let it rest. the next mourning i drove it and it reached vtec and wa spulling hard, then after 10 mins it started to bogg out agian. so i went and put in a bottle of 10w-30. and it ran fine. i had to put almost 1 1/2 bottle.
This happened twice. could i had an oil leak, and does vtec really eat that much oil.

VTEC needs 5 things to work

-Operating temp
-car in motion
-Rpm to send the go signal.
-Throttle position
-oil

Did you check the oil before adding it? Oil should be up to the second dot on the dipstick.
