if money is not an issue, get a V2 AEM CAI and call it a day. if money an issue, get k&n air filter replacement.

AEM V2's = very good... kinda loud though, but if that's your thing, then you're all set!

if you are gonna buy an intake just buy an ebay one. theres no point to buy something expensive like a v2 and still be slow

I got a ebay cold air one, and put a AEM filter on it. Lets face it a pipe is just a pipe unless its a V2. Then its a really expensive pipe.

If you're still going turbo why waste money with a cold air?

That looks super smooth. Something that one would expect to see from Pimp my ride on MTV.

Make your own icebox huh? What's next...connecting the CAI with an intercooler.

j00 mean an interfooler?

I dont know what the difference would be. The icebox idea is actually pretty good. You are NOT going to see some massive gains. The best you can do is take out the resonator in a stock air box w/ a high flow filter. A cold air intake will see only 1-2 extra hp from that number, nothing you'll be able to feel. So to anyone that spends so much money for the same results. I'd rock the homemade icebox.

whats wrong with it?

if he painted the intake arm black it WOULD be super smooth.
some believe in function over form.

Thats the cheapest I've ever heard of a V2 going for on ebay... you got a pretty good deal.

Anyone else have experience with the ice box set-up, I always thought about doing that.

you need to know what the hell is an ice box first befor you hack up your air box

look up comptech icebox's design and see if you can figure out what is dave is doing.

Looked up comptech's icebox design. So let's see now, the purpose of the icebox is to shield the filter from the engine's hot air and get cold air from the outside??

Why don't you just not buy the CAI, as it will save you money later. Not to mention a CAI is worthless if you're getting a turbo kit.
