2000 GSR swap into 98 Civic CX HB (obd2a to obd2b) Several Questions
Ok So here are my questions. I'm using my B18C1 out of my 2000 GSR which is obd2-B
I am putting it in my 1998 Civic HB which is OBD2-A.
None of the wires are in the correct pin locations. If I were not wanting to get the adapter harness for like $100 or more, could I in theory cut the ECU plugs off of the integra and the civic and solder the integra plugs (all wire colors match) onto the civic engine harness and just run the "extra" wires that were never intended for the car) to the appropriate places on the B18c1? I would say yes, and i I know how people hate to solder 100 wires, but I don't mind.
Question 2......
The hydo clutch line needs to be disconnected to remove the d motor, when I relese the pressure and reconnect to the B18c1 don't I need to bleed it?
And i got the 1999 SI civic rear mount
DID I MISS ANYTHING?
CAN SOMEONE POINT ME TO THE CORRECT THREAD? I'm SURE this has all been answered before. But I'm new around here. I'm in the swap process right now, so time is critical. Thanks everyone!

if your going to put the gsr motor in the hatch why not just use the teggy's ecu and wirings harness? and i dont think you have to bleed it unless u feel that you got to much air in the lines

That is correct. You dont want to use the integra harness.
You can put the integra ecu connectors on your civic harness.
The reasons I would not do this is:
-Alot of work, just to save $100.
-If you finish the swap and run into any electrical issues, you are going to have a tough time trouble shooting, considering all the rewiring you've done. You'll be doing a TON of rechecking connections and wire locations.
-What happens if in the future, you decide to put the car back to stock?
-Now you've got a integra main harness that is totally worthless.

get 99-00 civic si engine harness, cuzz it will plug right up to the ecu, and just wire the iab as stated above by turbogixxer. u might have to remove the immobilizer from the ecu too. correct me if im wrong?

I'm doing the swap in my 800 sf building out back, cars were in the garage for the b4 pics. room isnt a factor. The 2000 GSR shell? I'm throwing it and the d16 away....jk H22 sitting in the shed waiting. The GRS does have the immobilizer, which I havn't figured out how to "remove" TIPS?

ob2b gsr has an immobilizer -> no point in converting to obd2b... you'd be better off doing obd2a->obd1 and running a obd1 ecu (p72) or just an obd2a p72
the only obd2b ecu that'll run your car (well enough) would be a 99-00 si ecu, but then the iab's won't work w/out rpm activated switch.
If you do switch to obd1, remember that the IAB's are switched differently..... obd1 the ecu gives and releases ground (car starts->ecu gives ground till 5,500rpm-> ecu removes ground-vacuum goes away and iab's open), obd2 ecu gives and releases 12v...
cheapest- obd2a p72 + a couple wires...
best(IMO)- obd1 p72 + conversion harness (boomslang) + same couple of wires...

Just use your civic harness and add/extend the wires that you need. Then get an P72 obd2a gsr ecu from a 96-98 integra gsr. That will solve all your problems. 98ctr
I did the same thing with a obd2b civic motor into a 97 civic obd2a. 98ctr

Neither of your cars are obdIIb your civic and your integra are both obdIIa. YOu want to get a 96-00 ex engine harness. The 99si has a different plug configuration...
Edit: I was under the impression that the integras were obdIIa up until 00 they didn't go to obdIIb until 2001.

98-98 civic and 96-99 integra is OBD2a and 99-01 civic and 00-01 integra is OBD2b I am 100% sure on that but thanks. I'm looking into Boomslang harness, obd1 ecu and hondata. Anyone know if you still need the boomslang harness if you go hondata? I'll know in the morning when I call these people to order.
Thanks for the help! I'll post pics when its all done!
I'll be starting the n/a h22 swap in the teg when this is done. Whoo hoo!
