How does a flowmaster sound on our cars?
Im looking to get a quiet muffler that only gets semi-loud if I stomp on it. My car is also going to be turbo in the summer (by then I hope, im building the engine right meow) will that effect tone at all? If anyone has any other suggestions for QUIET mufflers, feel free to mention them. Thanks

My girlfriend has one on her car, its not loud at all. She needed a new muffler and I know flowmaster equals quality so I picked that one up.

You are joking?
They do not provide a whole lot of "muffling."

Does it sound like I'm joking ? I can go take a video clip of the car and you won't hear a thing. When you get on it you can hear it a little but its pretty much silent.

Just make sure you keep your resonator and the Flowmaster will be fine. (ie: I don't and it's loud in VTEC) It's ear piercingly loud if I am next to a van or under a bridge while hitting VTEC. I really need to get a resonator if I want to stay all motor.
edit: sorry, I have a B16a, if you have a D series it will be fine. Not loud at all. (that doesn't mean you might not want a resonator)

My bro has a neon and he bought that magnaflow with the long magnaflow resignator and its nice sounding. at LOW low rpms like 1-2500 u barley hear this deep deep sound like a rummble then when u get up higher it mostly motor and intake sound...im getting the same setup i loved it..not bad for muffle, resignator, and 2.5 in cat back for 325 after tax
any exhaust with a decent pipe diameter and no resonator is going to be pretty loud...i know this from experience
...finally decided do drop the muffler shop specials and get a name brand(thermal r&d)...its something i will never regret

Flowmasters are chambered and you said you will turbo the car later..
Chambered mufflers are to resrictive on a turbo car..
You need a straight through muffler to help spool the turbo better..
And yeah when you put the turbo on,, your car will be much queiter..Turbo acts like a muffler on the exhaust manifold....

the flowmaster 40 series(quiet one?). I'm pretty sure that's whats on my car. 2.5" in, 2.5" out. great sound and low volume at all rpm. you cant beat that ****.
If you're turbo'ing, you're gonna need a big exhaust.

Depends on what kind you buy, if you have a resonator and/or a gutted cat.. mine was LOUD on my civic with 2 1/4" exhaust. they have a good website from what i can remember and give good descriptions of the various mufflers they have.
i have a 2.5" vibrant w/ a bit resonator and highflow cat right now and love it. it's quiter than my old civic setup.
