You all are foos. Who the heck would choose an N1 over Mugen? Anyways, it all depends on what you're into. I'm into road racing, so Mugen is the best choice, because it gives you high end. N1 would be a good choice for drag racing though. Mugen is pricy, but it's worth it. I'm also into the sleeper look, and Mugen is not that noticeable.

Spoon N1 on the way for me. I never seriously considered the Mugen as it is expensive as all hell, and more restrictive. FYI I am not a drag racer, I have only taken my car on roadcourses. Japan's N1 series is a road racing series, not drag heats.

wait a minute, so if im into road racing i should choose the mugen? whats wrong with N1? doesnt N1 mean endurance? maybe endurance racing? isnt endurance racing road racing? Also, who the heck would choose an N1 over the mugen? people who cant afford the mugen maybe? Do you have dyno comparisons between the two exhausts? If so, please show it so we can see how much high end the mugen gives over the N1.

If your car is lightly modded (I/H/E) I don't think an exhaust will make that much of a difference. If you want the beautiful sound of the Mugen, then its worth the money, but if you are looking for power then, I agree, its a waste of your money.

The Mugen system is 60mm (2.37) but it actually necks down to 2-1/8 or 2-1/4" through the twin loop.

The Mugen that you're so proud of has a 55mm piping going into the main resonator and 60.5mm from then on. On top of that, it bottlenecks(as SMSP mentioned) inside the twin-loop.

High-end? I think 60mm straight N1 will give you better high-end power over the Mugen. Remember it's Mugen 'Sports' exhaust, not race.

Get your facts straight before u call someone a "fool".

How about the Tanabe Super Racing Medalion >> or the TRM with a modified B-Pipe to flow better. >> You should also get a new cat if you are looking for good performance (not just the sound)

I've got an Apex N1 and I felt a little bit of power from it. My car is styong with just bolt ons so i couldn't justify spending almost double on an exhaust.

Its pretty loud though and can sometimes get annoying.

Does anyone have any comments on the Hytech Twin Loop design? How is the sound of that compared to the mellow deep tune of the Mugen Twin Loop?

go hytech twin loop - should cost in the area of 600-700 I think - same design as mugen's but 2.5 inch all the way - where mugens is 60mm (2.33 ?) i think the tip might be .5-1.0 inche wider - I got the mugen on my GSR, very nice - very pricey too!
