Default EP3/DC5 Electrical guru: Fusebox question

I notice there are a lot of unused fuse spaces for the interior fusebox. Are those blank spaces even powered? I want to use one of them to hardwire my radar detector.

i don't think you really need to put an extra fuse on. Suggest you just hardwire your radar to the overhead map light. a detector doesn't draw any significant amperage anyway. neither do the map lights.

Yes, some of the open fuses have power. I can't remember which one I used, but I ran the wiring and then plugged the positive in while grounding the negative cable. You'll find which one is hot right away. Just pick and choose, some fuses are constant on, some are key in the ignition second click on, etc. It will make a difference if you want it to shut off when you turn the car off or if you have to turn it off manually. Hope that helps.
