Default H23a1?

Hey all you guys out there stuck with a h23a1 non-vtec, and dont have the money for a h22 swap. What have you found to be the most beneficial upgrade for performance to your engine besides I/H/E. Discluding turbos and superchargers of course. Thx.

Some beefy cams would help make a little more topend power where the h23 lacks...

I Have 2 92 si preludes, one has the JDM type-s H22 with a mugen hedder, Skunk2 exhaust, and AEM air intake. The other is a H23a1 that has a billet crank, H-beam rods, AEM intake, and a full exhaust and the H23a1 has a quicker 1/8 mile time.............................. so im not to shure about all that H23 is garbage stuff.

as much as i love the h23, i'd have to say that by the end of the 1/4 mile the h22 would have made out the lost time due to less torque...thats why the h23 is quicker to the 1/8th

Why wouldn't you use anything over 12:1 on the street?

Crower either stage 1 or 2. If you do stage 2 you'll have to get their springs and retainers...

If you get a stand alone EMS and higher compression I think that you could run Crower St. 3's. I an going to call Brian Crower tomarrow for more info. They are similar to Crower's LS 404's and the 404's have a slight lope at idle but are otherwise streetable.

I agree, i love my H23a, ive got a friend who just sold his H23 for a H22, and was beaten on a 1/4 mile by a H23a a couple of days after (check out preludeaustralia.com for the full post).

The H23a has stronger sleeves than the H22a, and can take more of a pounding. Anyway getting a bit OT, just im getting sick of ppl putting donn the H23a, VTEC is such an ego trip.

Cold air intake, DC sport header...(it really does suck) but it will have to do for now, Apexi exhaust. What type of throttle body are u running? I also think my next step will be cams.
