Key sometimes wont come out of ignition

Key sometimes wont come out of ignition
this is on a 90 accord lx coupe auto...we would put it into park and sometimes the key wont come out...any help to fix this problem is great...

i dont know if its the same as newer models but there is a little pin type thing ( on top or bottom) of the tumbler. You may be able to unscrew it and leave it off.

Does the "P" light on the dash come on when it's acting up?

yeah i think it has to do with the shifter cables...i tried to adjust it today, i might have helped a bit, but it still would do it, untill you jerk the "shifter"...

If you have to jiggle the shifter to get it to work it's probably a dirty/bad shift possition switch.

do you have any pictures of what that looks like? i dont have the online helms for it like i do for my crx...its not my car so im not going to buy one for 60 either

Had somewhat of the same problem with my 91 Accord, had to jiggle the key to turn the ignition switch or to remove it. Turned out that the key was just worn. I had a new key made from the Vin number at a local Honda dealership and the problem went away.
