Default 5th genration lude engine????

Ok I am currently deployed and am getting a 5th gen. lude when I get home. I have always been a v-8 gear head. I have owned a fair share of hondas but havn't really got into building honda engines yet. I plan on really getting into it when I get home.

well my question is. I am told that a 5th generation lude comes with a h23 v-tec in it and am told not to bother that that engine is junk compared to the h-22 v-tec. Now I Love ludes, but should I even bother planning on building on the lude engine, or should I work on a second, better engine swap for my CRX?? or would a 22-swap for the lude be a better bet? I am not going to be dealing with stock stuff in the engine ether.

and last, what would you cram your money onto to win races? the lude or the CRX??

All 5th gens have H22A only. Search next time, this is a ton of info in the FAQ section for any one with these questions.

If you want to race go with a lighter chassis. Rather than spending stupid money to make a heavy car fast, spend a little and make a light car faster.

The 5th gen prelude comes with an H22A4 DOHC VTEC engine. There is no USDM H23 VTEC, and it never came in a prelude.

well if you are down right serious about never losing a race and could care less for looks then cram your $$ into the crx
and the 5th gen comes with the h22 engine, its gonna cost alot of $ if u want to turbo that engine tho, unless ur happy with no more than 6-8 lbs of boost... u would have to resleeve the block

I was wondering if a 22 would fit in my CRX, I was figuring on getting a 94' up GSR. so where would I get a 22 conversion kit for that? or do they make one? that would be the ultamate. See thats what I thought that the new ludes had 22's in them. I was just told that they didn't come with them. and yea I thought that the 23's where non v-tecs thats what my buddies lude had in it. so I thought that I would just ask I dont really have all my stuff to look at since I an stuck here in hell.

All out race, stick with the CRX. I'd take a little slower 5th gen over a fast crx anyday though Just my .02 of course.

Hope you make it home safe man.

oh defanatly man I am getting the lude for sure when I get home I love the cars!! but I was just wonderin what to pile my money in to race. I already have the CRX. so sounds like I am going to be using the lude to just enjoy and going to be using the CRX to make haul ***.

now all I need to do is get some info on engine swapping for the CRX. it currently has a 89 integra (d series ??) engine in it now. so need to find out places to get swap kits and stuff. thanks man!! not too much longer till we get home
