What cams are the most aggressive with the closest to stock idle?
I dont know much about all motor cams, this is for a boost experiment. I'm currently running CTR intake with GSR exhuast and need a bit more aggressive vtec engagement and a wider powerband. but would like to maintain a somewhat quiet idle. should I consider s2 stage 1 or 2's?
EDIT- my valve train is upgraded. REV springs and retainers.

The most aggresive cam with a stock idle would be a JUN 3 cam.
But for a F.I. set up these cams have far to much duration and overlap. Your boost will go in the intake valve and right out the exhaust valve before it is ever combusted.
For an FI set up if you are looking for a better cam I would reccomend a JUN 2 cam. They have good lift and strong duration for the upper RPM pull you seek and not as much overlap as the JUN 3 cam so that your boost will be utilized.

I plan on dialing out overlap with cam gears. so Jun 3 right? btw who sell them.

It would be impossible to dial out the overlap of Jun 3 cams with cam gears. You will run the risk of valve to valve contact. The duration is just to huge to tune out.
If you notice the profiles of both cams, The JUN 2 intake cam actually has more duation @ .050 but ramp angle, centerline, and conbined with a JUN 2 exhaust cam there is not the same amount of overlap.
Why don't you look into a custom turbo grind cam from JG. They will be able to design something that makes the most of your boost and gets you into your desired RPM range.
Titan Motorsports or inlinefour.com sells the JUN cams.

appreciate the advice, but is custom cheaper or more expensive? I wanted off the shelf because its easier to get and possibly cheaper what are my other options? what doesnt have quite as much overlap but is noticeable more aggresive than oem R cams? how does teh s2 stage 1 compare to ctr cams?

I think JG cams are $600 Jun cams are $900.
You would save money. Most turbo cams have high lift, small(ish) duration and zero overlap.

Im gonna look into getting some used s2 s1's

These are not much different than ITR cam. If you are sure about being F.I. I would look into a dedicated custom grind for boost.

Skunk stage 3's are more aggressive and idle better than jun 3's.. The signal auto turbo choptop used to run toda b's btw..
