A 500hp motorcycle does not make a 300mph motorcycle.

Here's an example of a ~500hp turbo bike and its limits: http://www.nmraonline.com/features/noonan.php
You could probably beat his mph in a streamliner with half the power.

I have some vids of turbo bikes at work, from 600 to 1400cc. I'll post the URLs tomorrow if I can find them.

You are an idiot.

The fastsest Busa's are running 220MPH, no they are not 500HP, more like 350HP. I think the first thing to add to your Hornet is a rider with a brain?

You need to do a little researching because you a wrong. Turbo busas have run 250Mph in a mile from a dead stop at Maxton and have gone over 248Mph on the salt flats. And I now they have over 350HP, Hell mine has over 300HP. The newwwer big kit are making over 500HP and those are kit not one off set ups.

So their speed is not 'unlimited' and it is more likely that they are running 350HP not 500HP which is the point I was making. Quite what the point of having massive horsepower unless you wish to compete in a land speed record is beyond me.

Speed is not unlimited on anything. And no you are wrong they have to run more than 350HP to go that fast. In order to make those kinds of top speeds a little thing called aerodynamics is what determines your top speed for a given HP.

So you cant keep from picking fault then? 220mph on a Busa can be achieved as I understand with 350HP, which is what I said at the outset. Not worth arguing as its wholly irrelevant and a motorcycle in name only for all the use it is. 450HP held, maybe even still holds the current UK land speed record at 242MPH.

Busa owners, forever quoting HP numbers

Both you guys sound like you're right. I don't see any contradictary information here.

220@350hp, 242@450hp, 249@500hp sounds reasonable. Just goes to show you how much extra power you need to gain that little bit of extra mph.

Now stop bickering with eachother and get back to ragging on xinoka!

Yes that is my everyday street ride (other then my car). I have over 35K miles on it.

Without numbers there is no basis for facts.

All these vids are too large to host or email. I'll post the original URLs here if I find them.

I know for a fact there are some "street legal" 500+hp turbo busas, at least in the US there are. Go to the dyno shootout in Daytona and you will see some of them.
