hey guys, im in the market for a new convertible and am seriously looking at both of these models. i am aware that the slk is an extra 10k in msrp price but i think its worth it for the retractable hardtop and such. im also aware of the rapage im going to take from options but i just want to see how you guys guage your car (the s2k) against this car. for instance, what do you like and dislike about your car or what do you like about your car that you dont about the SLK. fyi, the new slk has almost 30 more hp and plentiful more tq but weighs 400 lbs more, could the s2k hold it's own?

 

i would still pick the s2000 because it's just such a fun car to drive... and i like everything about it... wish it had a little more torque down low but that can all be worked on..

you can get an s2000....and then modify it with the extra 10g's... supercharger or turbo, aem ems, yada yada.. and be very very fast...

and you'll have a lot more fun on the street and on the twisty roads...

 

The new style SLK definitely looks nice. The only way to make a good judgement is to drive both and decide which one you want.

Edit: I love everything about the S2000. The things that bother me are minor and do not make me regret buying the car. These things include the placement of the cup holder, no clock for year 2000-? and .... that's it. As for what's good about the car; drive it and you will understand.

01-03 - comes with clock
04+ also has clock on the gauge
