airbags stolen
a whats up, my girls 2001 accord dx jus got broken into. both her airbags got stolen and her passenger window is busted. do the accords' airbags have some kind of value to them for someone to steal them?
Yeah, same thing just happened to my Mom's 94 Accord stock. Driver and passenger bags both gone--professionally removed--no glass or lock breakage. Nothing else taken.
Oh yeah, there's definately a market for stolen airbags.
Definately run this run through the insurance, they will be expensive to try to replace on your own.

hahaha, werd.
but airbags arnt worth THAT much, i think they were worth 600. also, the reasoning behind is, when you replace an airbag legally, the insurance would have to consider the car like "damaged" or something, insurance goes up. but if you do it yourself, buy an airbag off the black market and fix dmg yourself, no report is needed.

Yeah, insurance is taking care of it now. Its at a dealership now to replace both bags and fix the glovebox. Close call, thought they'd have to "total" it as it was getting close to the current value of the car. Seems like those things need an alarm system of their own.

Holy cow, thats on an '01? That can't be right. I would have taken the cash and left the air-bags off.

when an airbag goes off and needs to be replaced, doesn't the control module need to be replaced as well? Thats what I heard and thats why I'll be selling the control module, wire harness and both airbags as a complete set from my totalled Accord.
