The real question I would like answered is.

My SiR is 00 so that makes it a EK right.
Is that just name for the generation?
Because the Chassis code is EM1?

they were all carb til 1985. in 85 the crx si engine code ew1 was pgm fi. in 87 the d15a3, which was the equivilant of the ew1 in 85 and the ew3 in 86 was pgm fi. in 88 all carbs were gon and engines were either pgm fi or dp fi.

To clarify, I believe that the EK is the Civic Type-R. The Civic that people on this board commonly refer to as the EK is actually an EJ.

Your SiR or US spec Si is a an EM1. The other civic coupes from 92-00 are considered an EJ8. The EK refers to the japanese hatchback, EK9 being the Type R.

It was said that the old honda is an EA, I cant vouch for that though.

But the first Civics that were FI were the first Si hatches, which I believe were 86.

You're right, I forgot about that. The EK9 is the CTR. My USDM 2000 H/B is a EJ6.

Yes, it's an EK 96-00 Civics are EKs
EM1 is the specific coupe Si chassis code, it's in the VIN.
