Default Need info on Shipping Blocks

Hey guys i'm gonna need a little help on this since I myself and the seller both have no knowledge in shipping a shortblock. The seller is located in Southern Cali, and i'm wondering if there are any of you guys that know any companies around that area that can ship a block properly. Lmk if anyone has any info i'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance

Shipping is more an issue of packaging than anything.

Strapping it to a pallet might seem safer, but I've had no problem sending shortblocks UPS with correct packaging.

i work at the ups store and let me give you a little rundown of exactly what happens on the good old brown truck
my cowork owns a vr6 passat. he got a custom oettinger front end made in cali and shipped to us in jersey.
there were little 8"X10" bags of the styrofoam peanuts taped to the bumper as it lay loose in the poorly constructed box of independent 12" boxes...so you can imagine...the custom fiberglass backed/urethane molded front end was cracked on mounting locations and all....a $1,400 one off piece!
if packaged properly everything will be fine....weve shipped countless boxes of china and lenux cross country ground service and because it was packed well eveyrthing was fine. i actually had to watch a 1 hour video on properly packaging items. take it to the ups store if you ahve one by you. tell them youd like to watch them package it...they can't deny you...weve dont it for people....insure the shorty...and your good...if your real iffy tho...which trust me i would be....id rent a pickup, borrow a cherry picker...load it on and take the drive and enjoy that cali weather we dont get here in nj!
