Default Alpine CDA-9831, CDA-9833, or CDA-9835

i've decided to go with an alpine deck for my 92 civic hatch. can anyone tell me what's the major difference between the CDA-9831, CDA-9833, and CDA-9835? from what i see, the 9835 is basically a 9833 with bio-lite display, right?

Correct. Go to http://www.crutchfield.com to see the differences between the 9831 and 9833/35.

IMO, yes. The 9833 has more internal amp power and a more adjustable xover.
