Default Newbie to S2K

hi all, i've just traded my old car the day before thanksgiving for a 2001 S2K. the car was beautiful and has an exterior like right off of show room floor, and the interior is perfect. best of all, the car only has 15000 miles on the odometer, and is completely stock, and i couldn't have been happier with this car. some old guy had it before me, and it was a leased vehicle (got the info from carfax). and i'm guessing it was a garage queen.

well, since i'm a newbie here in the S2K world, i like to know what grade of gasoline do you all use in your S2K's? regular, mid-grade, or premium? i live in florida, and we have 93 octanes here.

also, i'd like to know what's the wheel sizes on the 2001 S2K's. it seems like the wheels are staggered, just wasn't sure what width.

and if there are any flaws i should be aware of my car, pros and cons and all.

btw, the automatic one touch power window button on the driver side don't seem to work well. i know it works, but it doesn't lower the window all the way sometimes. curious.

well first off ... welcome to the family.. you made a very good choice..

and the gas i use 93octane...... always use premium grade gas, nothing less.....

and the wheels are staggered... 16x6.5 in front.. 16x7.5 in rear...

and as for the pros and cons.....check your first and second gear... there's a problem with the syncros grinding..... they might of already fixed it tho.... and ummmm... since it's a used car they probably got all the spring spacers out... and i think thats pretty much it..

enjoy the car..

the window regulators go bad i think theres a tsb on the older s2ks. theres also a rattle on deceleration sounds like the motor but its the springs on the clutch disk they become loose and rattle i think theres a tsb on that too.

just a few pointers

congrats on the new car!!!!

welcome! as said, use premium grade fuel, and if you don't notice anything broken, there's no need "looking" for something to go wrong. You'll know if something is wrong.

The window problem should be fixed by your dealer, there is a service bulletin on it.

do you think the dealer will still fix the problem eventhough the car is out of warranty?

of course they would fix it but you have to pay ... i have the same problem ... they said, " poor internal power window motor ground" ...so they ended up replacing the motor/regulator assembly free of charge (under warranty)...
