ok, tried doing a brake swap and i cant get the lower balljoint to not spin(with airtools, so its def busted). this is a 95 teg knuckle btw. is there a locking clip to hold the balljoint in place. i know my 93 civic had one, but i cant seem to find it on the teg knuckle. also, does anyone know for sure that the balljoints are all the same, like would one from my 93 ex fit the 95 teg kuckle? i remember hearing it would.
If the ball joint is still spinning when you're trying to tighten it back up, it usually means the threads are snagging. Brand new ball joints don't have this problem and the castle nut will spin up and down the ball joint without any binding.
Use a little bit of anti-seize on the threads and jack up the LCA to put pressure on the ball joint, then tighten it with a 17mm socket/ratchet. You should not need an impact to get it seat.
Edit: Or....maybe you're trying to remove the castle nut. hmmm. The part numbers match.

all good advice.
. im gonna get back in the garage in a lil while and clean up the threads on the balljoint and then use anti-seize on them. i have an extra balljoint, so if for some reason i cant get the current one to thread, ill just replace it. im just having a hard time figuring out how to remove the old balljoint.
