Most probably a dead battery. Have you tried a boost from another car?

he says he recharged the battery and he hears a ticking... battery is probably good... or atleast not the only cause of the problem.

1) try to jump start your car
2) if you have a manual transmission attempt a push start... this will tell you if your starter is bad.

my money is on the starter if youve already tried recharging the battery

i agree with filthy_shovel.

if the battery is screwed, recharging it wont help at all.

a friend of mine had this problem, the radio and lights would even come on but it was still a dead battery that wouldnt hold charge that was the cause.

also check for that acid build up crap that always apears where the battery attaches. id try getting the car boosted from another car or a booster pack. if that doesnt work then look into the starter. if the car does start doing this, you know you have a dead battery.

well who do you know that doesnt crank on the car with the battery charger still on it? that would get around a bad battery...

i had the exact same problem not too long ago and it was my starter... 2 clicks. nothing.

well if you take the battery to like jiffy lube or someplace shitty like that. then theyll take the battery out and put it in the "recharge" thing.
