Default Skunk 2 Stage 2 or CTR

I have a JDM GSR motor with all the regular bolt ons, and now im trying to determine what cams im going to get. I know that CTR cams are good with stock valve train while Skunk 2 will require a vavletrain upgrade which is not a big to me. I also know that stage 2s also prefer higher compression. Now here is my question, on my stock block and compression as it is now, will the Stage 2s provide more power all around than the CTRs will?. The reason why i ask is because even if they do not provide their full power on my stock compression but do provide more power than the CTRs would then i would go with them because at the moment i can get CTRs and Stage 2s for the same. I know i do plan on bumping the compression later but i just want to make sure there will be a notice able difference now

stage 1's are more aggressive than the ctr... so why not those instead?

if you do go stage 2 you will have a rougher idle and lose some power down low. do you have the rpms to make the stage 2s worth it is the question.

You should buy the skunk cams now and put them in when you raise the compression. The cams will be too much for your motor because you are not using them the way skunk2 intended. Why would you buy CTR's not just to upgrade to skunk2 later? Just be patient.

wait, so you're sayin that you can get the stage 2's AND the skunk2 valvetrain now?? I'd just get those cams NOW, and there WILL be a "noticeable" difference, fo' shizzle....

However if I were j00, I'd just go turbo

well my original plan was to go wit the CTRs cause they are oem and reliable and make good power from what i have read, and also because i can just drop them in my motor wit some cam gears and be done. The place where i was planning on getting the CTRs from just so happens to now be selling stage 1s and 2s for like the same price of the CTRs so now im thinking like why not just go wit the better cam which would be the stage 2. i dont mind buying the valve springs and retainers, but i just wouldnt know when exactly i would be changing my pistons if at that, but i know i want to get the cams put in first, and i dont want to buy them and then wait till whenever i get pistons. So now basically the question is between CTRs, Stage 1s and Stages2s, which one will perform better on my stock block?.

The question is do you want more high end or more mid range? The skunk2s give a lot of mid range, well thats where the power was when i put them on my gsr.

The biggest issue here would indeed be compression. When you run "damn agressive cams" on the comparitively low compression Sir-G, you're not going to make power. The same would be true if you put B16 cams in a 13:1 compression race motor. In the experiences I've had, the Skunk2 Stage 2's aren't really happy until you break about 12:1 compression.
