2.0L b18c5 or b18c1
well i am planning on boring out a 87.2mm stroke motor for some serious top end power. my problem is should i bore out the b18c5 block or sell it to buy a gsr block and have some money left over. Would the b18c5 offer ANY advantages? and if so would they be worth the $800 i could make?
The bare blocks are the same. The ITR crank is a little heavyer than the gsr. The heavyer crank will strike the tire a little harder between shifts but will keep your rpm's up there where they need to be. I think they would both make the same power.

so in that case, would you use "LS size" rods? how much would you have
to deck the block to get the piston measurement up top same as B18C?

Nope you keep the crank with the rod.. so he would use a ls block gsr or itr crank and rods. Or use ls block ls crank and .137 longer rods with raised pin pistons to acheive the same rs ratio or a gsr/itr with the etra displacement from the longer 89mm stroke.
