What intake is best?
I just wanted to know your peoples opinion: what kind of intake would work best on my 2000 civic EX (auto)...i kno i kno...proly nuthin cuz it is an auto...but jus some feedback on what cud help my horses the best!...i heard J's racing intake is a go0d match but i need more input!
I dont think it really makes too big a difference no matter what you get because of the little power gain. I know AEM is alright, J's intake is good too, but again I really dont think it matters. I had a comptech on my coupe before it was stolen and i liked it.
there alot of them u need to SEARCH...an intake is an intake...most ppl go with either AEM or J's or watever ppl like better...do some research on different intakes and see which one is to your liking..goodluck
The best intake is the one that you can afford. I have always chosen ebay + K&N filter for my cars, but my gf refuses to use anything but name brand on her cars. I choose ebay b/c I think the name brands are a rip off.

Friends have had good experiences with these short rams, I've helped install one personally.
Some say they would not want to pay that much, but others say that it dynos(sp) higher than AEM's. Your decision.

Get you a turbo set up and when people ask you what you've done to your car just be like... Yup I upgraded the intake a little bit.
my intake owns j00 (not recommended, this is how I bought it)

but yea any short ram will do fine. You'll enjoy better throttle response in that automatic also.
Heres what I did to my automatic Sunfire about a year ago, before I dumped it off to my sister and got civic in sig vvv. I was low on the flow so it was a cheap project. Probably got a net gain of 3 HP from this, but the sound and the throttle response was worth it.

Yep, The Weapon R Dragon intakes are the best short ram intake on the market and have consistently out performed all other makes of short rams. The best Cold air intakes on the market for power production are AEM, INJEN, and COMPTECH which consistently outperform short ram intakes in REAL WORLD everyday driving conditions.

I have Injen SRI for look and sound mostly and because I got it cheap
I run that in the summer.
I use the stock airbox in the winter with a K&N Filter. When I switched over a couple weeks ago I cleaned and reoiled the K&N and I have to be honest I don't see a lot performance difference.
Gas Milage is good as well.
Since the Injen is a SRI it is prone to heatsoak. So the performance gains I get from it are somewhat cancelled out in certain situations. So compared to a Stock Box with a Brand new or Newly Oiled K&N there is probably not much difference
I like the sound though. VTEC at 8000 RPM with a SRI is sweet.
