Can I ride on H&R sports with stock shocks?
Ok, before anyone tells me that I should save up and do it right the first time, etc. I already know all of that. The thing is I can get these for a really good price and they will be temporary until I can buy some omni streets.
How long will I be able to go without my shocks blowing out? Will the ride be horrible and not worth it? Note: I know this will handle and perform like **** but it is pretty much cosmetic. So what do you guys say. I have heard of a lot of people riding h&r sports on oem shocks for a while so i dont know.

?? Care to elaborate? Do you know from first hand experience?

my experience with them, well I had them on for like 3 years with no problems, the only problem I had was I needed a camber kit, cause it was wearing the insides of my tires. They were a pretty stiff ride.

Im in the exact same situation. I dunno if i should keep my H&Rs and get a good set of shocks or get a set of coilovers. If I got the shocks, what king of improvement would this give me? The only thing i do not like about my setup right now is there is no wheel well cover in the rear and stones hit everything and make a lot of lil scratchs and a lot of noise.

Hmm so it seems like quite a bit of people have been running these springs on stock shocks?? Thats suprising becuase i thought that they would blow out the oem shocks fast and ride shitty. I know they are too soft or a spring rate for the drop they give though. How low are your cars front and rear?

i think mines roughly 1in front in back with eibach prokit springs. ive been running about a year with stock shocks and havent had a problem. the previous owner never said how long the springs were on his car
depends on how many miles are on your car.
a friend of mine rode on HR sport on stock shocks and it blew within 2 weeks. He had about 50K miles at the time.
if you have more than 50K i wouldnt recommend doing it. The stock shocks are not designed for to be riding on lowered springs. Just save up for 2 more months or something and do it right the first time. It'll save your the trouble of going back and doing the process all over again which takes like 3 hours to do.
but it's your decission.

My friend has these on a DC2 and it rides just like stock. His car has low mileage though. 20K on the car and i think about 10K on the shocks. I dont think you will have a problem.

i just lowered my dc2 on h&r sport springs and kyb agx adjustable shocks, i thought before installing them that the ride is going to be soft as some people have said even though they have adjustable shocks. Well the drop that i got is perfict it will get a lil more lower as the suspension settels in, as for the ride quality iits awesome , it is stiffer than stock and my shocks arent even set on stiffest, havent tried any other suspension but i think this setup is very good, u shoud get some aftermarket shocks u wont be dissapointed
