Power Hatch and Keyless Doorhandles
My car (93 EG/EH Si Hatch) was broken into again last night... Each time it happens I learn a little, and improve things a little... I think this time I may have figured it out (Not that my Fiance hasn't been telling me this from the start.) There are two ways to prevent a break in... Make the car impenetrable (Not impossible but awfull darned inconvienient,) or make it undesireable.
While some who see the rust on my car assume that is the method I will choose, I have come to the conclusion that I must learn not to leave anything of value in the car (This of course includes the face plate off my stereo when I replace it.)
The latest invasion was through my hatch... They hammered my lock out. So, I've decided to get rid of the lock altogether... I'm going to shave it but I don't want to leave myself without any method of gaining entry from outside the car...
Has anyone ever rigged up a remote hatch opener? I am thinking about trying a door lock controller where the old locking mechanism is and hoping that it would be strong enough to get it to unlock.
Any thoughts?
Also. To those of you who have removed your keyed door handles in favour of rear ones from a four door... Is it as easy as it seems? Do they just swap or are there differences that I'm not aware of? Do they have the same mounting tabs?
Has anyone bought cheap ones from Ebay? at 11$ a piece it seems hard to pass up.
Thanks Muchly

Arbadacarba</TD></TR></TABLE>You will need a "trunk release solinoid" a doorlock motor is not strong enough
as for "impenetrable" not only inconvienient but very expensive, with shatter proof glass and so on, you do know that if there is no lock to punch out, the
will just bust a window
