I need a new car in a few months and I have about 2k to spend. I would like to get an eg hatch if I can find one in fair condition that runs decent. Just wondering if I have a chance in finding one for that price or should I look for something else.

 

You could probably find one for 1000 if you look in the right places, good luck.

I picked up my eh2 in my town for 900. All that was wrong with it was that the timing had slipped two teeth, wouldn't start. Reset the timing down the street from the dude i bought it from , and then drove it home and took the motor out.

You'll see them in auto trader for usually 3-4g with the occasional 2g.

Not sure yet - I have just been browsing. I was going to get an ek but if I can find an eg for 2k or under I would rather get it. I have seen some decent deals out here so hopefully I can find one.

i was being honest guys calm down, he said that hatch it less than 2G's right?

for less than 2g's on a hatch that has anything modified even a turn signal lens i would think twice, maybe he beat on it? Maybe there is a bunch of small things wrong with the car? Think about it.....

2G's? i see from the pic it is in good condition outside wise, maybe excellent, but what about everything else? Beat motor? ripped interior? Bad electrical system? check your stuff first before you hate on me for telling the truth.....

maybe the person cracked a corner lense and realized that spending $20 on the APC peice of **** ones was cheaper than getting the oems ones back... come on ya ever thing of that

Thats just how i would buy a car, you cant trust people these days, after 2 hooked up cars i have purchased and went to crap, 1 fully modded blew up 60 miles after purchase and the second just had a shift *** but was owned by a nutcase (found that out later) threw a rod....

Just my 2cents, dont like it ignore it....but dont cry to me when you buy that car and you have a billion questions in the EG froum about how there is an engine tick, or engine light....if this doesnt happen im happy for you, good find....but youll see..

I agree with the jist of his post W-A-O... yes there are steals, but remember you get what you pay for. Its tough to find a good all around EG for $2k and I've been looking for awhile. Its either nice body, crap engine. Good engine, crap body with rust, or junk color. I've been holding out on white with no rust and think I found my peach, so we'll see tomorrow. Good luck with ur findings...

In Wa i would say 2500 to 3500 is a good price for a hatch or coupe. 92-95. Normally pretty spendy unless you know who gots the deals.

 

Dude your acting like I am the 17 yr who knows **** from ****. It’s a Honda stuff is not hard to replace. I am not going to come on the eg board and ask your little punk *** who has been driving a year for help. I didn’t really even expect non west coasters to reply to this. That car was just a pure example and it’s listed at 1600 saying good condition and shape. If anything it has a salvage title. Do not worry about me rushing into anything – been there done that and have been screwed over many times. For what I have seen and what others have said – it’s likely if I hunt I will find one in my price range. I am not expecting a perfect car for 2k or less.

here in alabama i paid 2300 stock. mint conditions, outside and interior but motor hade 170000miles on it, but who cares now sence i already did a gsr swap!
