We went to a movie and got home last night a little after midnight.

Well being thanksgiving and all, we didn't go outside to the car until ~7pm today.

That's when I noticed the driver's door ajar. And of course the broken glass on the ground. There's also a brick sitting in the driver's seat, and they stole remotes to the apartment gate and to my garage - along with my briefcase which just had important papers, my house keys, and pocket pc that was a gift from kengs. That's about it. They left the vafc, so I don't think it was car related. Smash and grab is more like it. My tools are also in the car intact.....

Good thing this happened on my hatch (hybrid EF), but it still sucks.

Cops didn't even come out to do a report - they did it over the phone b/c they said it was such a high-volume night! They told me I was lucky they didn't take the whole car!

Now I'm changing my passwords online b/c that was what little info I had on the pocket pc.

I guess we'll have to change the locks as well.

Damn, now this is just getting out of hand!

From the title I thought that one of your cars were taken..

Although it sucks that your stuff had been robbed, I'm glad it was not a car of yours.

And as for the cops asking to do it on the phone that's a lot of BS. But I guess its better then standing outside waiting for hours for them to show up...

sorry to hear, but put it this way...you hear the garage door open at night you'll be sure to find out who it is. keep your ears open and your ******* puckered for the meantime.

 

if I were you, I'd unplug your opener. keep an eye our for suspicious people driving buy with an opener out the window...oh, and if they took the insurance card, they'll might try to get a key made up. Maybe they made it look like a smash and grab just to get as much of your ID as they could to get access to keys and your house?

 

i threw up a little stuffing after reading this.....

unplug garage door opener, rekey house, change passwords, load guns, set booby traps....

This is a bit of a downer after reading the post where the guy tracked down his stolen R. Again, atleast they didn't take the car.

 

Sorry fo hear about your car, Ken. Definitely change the locks and garage door opener ASAP.
