There are so many things that could be wrong, you have to describe your problem better.

I'm kind of confused by the way you phrased your question.

do you smell it especially in the cabin, or also in the engine bay?

do you see gas anywhere, can you smell where it's concentrated... does it happen only on WOT, or just driving around

those u lines, that go from the tank to the lines, that metal line is notorious for
rusting, or fitting leaking, check her out

turn on the car to pressurize the fuel system and look in the engine bay to make sure no fuel is spraying. if not then pull up the back seat and take off the metal cap behind the seat. in there you will be able to look at the connections at the tank and the filler neck, to see if any of them are leaking. if you smell it strong in the cabin then i would suspect it to be in here. lastly, there is a plastic cover behind the drivers rear wheel, this also has three fuel hose connection that could be faulty.

What you can do is bring a spare container of gas with you so you can run out with a clean mind.

i use shell V-power mostly......so i should check under the hood for spraying, then check the other lines...?

your definatley leaking fuel, id follow the hose coming off of your fuel filter going into the fuel rail , make sure all that stuff is tight, if its not that then check the fuel return line coming off the rail going into the firewall on the driver side, i had a similar problem and it wouldnt leak under idle but once i gave it gas it would leak.

it might not spray, in my case it was dripping, check around the fpr, check the right side of the fuel rail where the fuel return goes, check the line coming off the fuel filter going into the fuel rail.

how old is your fuel filter

are you sure it's fresh gas, or is it exhaust fumes?
maybe you're running rich. a faulty map sensor will probably screw with your A/f ratio and thus mess with your gas mileage.
