I would think it would run around the same time a 99-00 civic si runs because of the similar weight. Looks like I am right...

A vtec controller usually does more then just control your vtec, it allows you to fine tune the car and usually can have a good outcome in power gains (~5whp or more maybe, im just guessing)

i have a DA and if your apart of g2ic.com youlll research information there and find that most people will say that the b18 (ls) stock is the same if not faster then the b16.

happened to me to many times....ls motor with b16 tranny u might win, the reason im going b16 is cuz i ran sumthing over going to a car meet originated from a g2ic meet..lol....so i cracked my oil pan and my block

Wow, you just won the most pointless post of the day JDM_Spec

Integra-type-gs
Ive beatin many Si's (99 civics) with my LS tranny with my LS motor. After I got my si tranny with LSD i could even take gsr's.

"Its not what you do to your car, its whos driving the car" ROFL LoL (next fast and furious quote)

That can be the reason i even beat gsr's and si's with different trannys; opponent was a shitty driver.

Driver=Best quarter mile time

check g2ic.com out and ask this question (est 1/4 times on ANY motor) there, better yet, search youll see most will tell you they think the LS to a b16 isnt a great upgrade.

b16a in a 93 rs. 15.0 on the motor, and my driving was terrible. i/h/e clutch flywheel, vafc, mounts, short shifter, running on 17's 15.0 @ 91 with a 2.6 60 foot. Its more fun to drive than my ls. that went 16.2s all day with standard bolt ons.

ridiculous, why was anything even said at all?

reguardless a friend of mine running a B17 in his hatch dyno'd actally the same as his B16A he had prior and ran a 14.9 so i would expect lower 15's as being stated...

as for VTEC controller like V-AFC friend of mine on his B17 DA GS-R he lowered the VTEC activation point to 4500 and had a much much better Tq curve and gained 6 to the wheels from doing it...

(if there are letters missing or not spaces in my post i apologize, i am on a lap top and i am used to full size keyboards...)

In my 92 teg i hit a 16.1 WITHOUT 3rd gear, and only muffler, intake, fpr, and matrix wires, and clutch.
Then in my 90 teg rs I hit a 15.7 ALL STOCK just with a rusted beat up intake that was cut in 3 pieces, and i just cut the springs.
Friend of mine ran 15.2 on the g-tech with a JDM b16a2, i,h,e under. pulley, wires, fluidyne raditator and crappy ls tranny with full clutch and 8lbs flywheel. and on 17s

b16's swaps will range from i bet 14.9- 16+ depending on driver/ WEIGHT of the car/ how healthy the engine is/ etc.

I hit 15.1 in my 1990 RS, 160k on original engine, some weight reduction, open header, fuel pressure regulator and CAI.

On the other hand, a friend who has a 1990 ls integra with a b16, and bolt ons, pulls on me.

If your putting a b16 in a heavy Integra GS, dont expect it to be any faster, theres just not alot of torque to pull that thing.

i had a b16a in my old da. to be honest with you it wasnt that much diffrent. was it a waste of money? if i could take it back i probally would have just boosted the ls but it all depends on what you wanna do with it. i say if you got a nice strong ls in there keep that and boost it

Of course the B16 is crap compared to a B18a! Dont waste your money just build the B18a!

and to keep LS haters from talking smack here is a dyno comparing the B16 and B18a stock for stock!

i dunno i think i'll take the ~20 more HP and lose the 18 tq cause hondas aren't really tq engines anyways so i feel i should focus on the stronger points hondas have... hp...

Thats solely your opinion, and I respect that! I on the other hand would rather make 190 whp before 7.5K than make it at 9K! Torque is never a bad thing, hence the fact ppl go LS/Vtec or B20/Vtec!

it all depends on what kind of racing he wants to do. Drag racing? having max power at redline doesnt really matter since you will be at the top of your rpm band when drag racing. Autocrossing, the LS has a much better curve and the torque will help as well. Personally, i have a DA9 with a b16. i ran a 15.3 with just I/E. I turbocharged it and dyno'd the car. It made 193 lb/ft of torque at 9psi (hows that for torqueless wonder?). Went to the tracks, ran a 15.8! because of slipping clutch, and really really bad traction due to shitty *** falken ziex tires...ended up coasting down the track in 5th. I believe once i fix the traction problems i will be able to easily hit 13's if not 12's. so basically, the b16 is a really good motor, but if you are gonna autocross the car, i suggest the LS.

Thats with forced induction! Thats a completely different ballpark when compared to allmotor! However 193 ft-lbs. of torque is nice!

Sorry, it is still a torqueless wonder to me. Nearly every motor can add 9 PSI and get that kind of torque (probably including some D-series), and 80% of NA motors on the road will put up better numbers than that when 9 psi is added. With a b16, I'd be more focusing on the HP figure (which should be pretty high), since you're going to have trouble impressing people with &lt;200 ft-lbs from a turbo.

Torque rocks... It's what plants your *** into the seat. And b16's just don't have it without a decent-sized turbo. The engine has it's merits for racing applications in very light cars, such as CRX's, which can get away with low torque due to very light weight, but one should always strive for as much torque as possible for its versatility and fun-factor.

</TD></TR></TABLE>dude...200 ft lbs from a 1.6 liter engine? think about it...the old mustang foxbodys put out about 225 to the crank, which probably equals 200 to the wheels, and thats a v8. I am not saying 193 is a lot, but it is a lot for a little 1.6 liter. i'm just saying that if he's worried about everyone saying the LS has more torque, boost throws off that whole equation.

12.9@107
drag turbo kit
8.8 to 1 b16
ls tranny
13 lbs of boost

The car was a pig all motor. I would definitely go ls vtec over b16. Or gsr motor if you have the cash.
