Default #572's Thanksgiving Eve Adventure (pics inside)

w00t for 3 1/2 hour trips in 8 hours!

Every highway was at a standstill most of the time. My average speed for the trip was about 30mph. When I got to the MI border, I stopped to de-ice my wipers and clean the headlights. I snapped a shot of the ice caked front:

here's a shot when I got home, 8 hours and 20 min. after I left:

Grand total for the carnage:

cars off the road: 27
accidents: 3
car fires: 1
cops stuck in the snow: 1
inches of ice on my front lip: 5"+
times I almost went off the road: 1

yeah yeah, I bought it like that. Original color is FBP (its a 2000). The engine bay is still black so it will be easy to restore it, but more people like it than I thought, so I'll probably keep it orange. It's starting to grow on me, plus I can pick out my car easily at Expo 5.

My sis spun out in Canada on the way home from NY and I just said fockit to goin up north with the rest of the fam since it took me 1 hour to go 6 miles...like ppl haven't lived in MI long enough to learn how to drive...I passed everyone going the speed limit or just above including the SUVers...I love the face they get seeing a lil FWD tiny car flying by lol.

yeah, how's your sis doing, J?

This winter should be fun, the LSD makes snow driving totally different compared to my GS-R two winters ago...

the trick to driving in the snow is to drive a beater, i had a 91 hatch(which was suppose to be my race car so it had no heater) and i had to drive it about 30 miles home witha hangover in fresh 6" of snow last year, i did not reall give a **** about the car so i didnt put to much effort into driving, when i slid i just let it slide and not correct it

but i wouldnt take that chance with a itr

That's some crazy weather to be drivin' tha R in. I barely drive my R in the rain.

<----who's lovin' the "cone" paint job. With the engine bay black that must be hottness

yeah, I was hoping it wasn't gonna be that bad...boy was I wrong. Bald Kumho 712s made it that much more interesting.

I'll post some more pics in another thread after I get some complete shots of the car...

I'm not sure about that. 712s + snow + freeway = digging your own grave.

The orange really doesn't look bad. I just figured the color from the camera was off.
