Hey whats up i just wanted to kno what would be the best oil to use for winter time meaning the cold lol...

 

Valvoline Max Life 5w30 changed about every 4 weeks or so.... 5w30 is good for pretty much all climates. If your engine burns a little oil, you can try 10w30, but only if your climate doesn't dip down below freezing.

 

10w 40 cause it freezes every once in awhile.

i use 5w30 honda oil

 

i use 10w30 just cause i burn oil. it does pretty well in utah weather, just takes a little longer to warm up, etc..

 

I use 5w 30 but I live in AZ. It doesn’t get to cold here.

Honda oil? I hope you're not paying very much for that....

 

I use either 10w30 or 10w40 synthetic.

 

5W-30 in WA....never had problem last winter

5W-30 all year round

 

mobil 1 5w-30 synthetic all year long

 

i use the fully synthetic mobil 1 motor oil.

right on, K&N filter + mobil1 fully synthetic all year long....10/30...oil change periodically at 3,000 miles mark...$30bucks oil change plus filter is hella expensive...

 

Used year round:

94LS auto gets 5w30 Honda oil. 194kmiles

94GSR gets 5w30 Castrol GTX. 94k miles.

And of course both are used with the OEM honda oil filter.

There is no point in 10w30 because in the end it's still a 30 weight oil. So when the engine is cold your pumping a 10 weight instead of a 5 weight. For the basic I/H/C/E B18 motor stick with a good quality 5w30 motor oil with a MAXIMUM change of 3k miles. If your motor is heavily modified, then talk to your engine builder for what is best. If your motor is running shitty and smokes, use the thicker oil, and save for a re-build.

honda oil is garbage. use csatrol syntec 5W30 with fram oil filter

 

Mobile Drive Clean 5w30 all year round.

 

10w40 all year long
castrol gtx only+wix racing filter

 

I use 10w30 castrol syntec with lucus oil stabalizer. I also live in austin tx so it does'nt get that cold here.

Valvoline 5w30 Max Life with Amsoil SDF-20 filters is what I used to run in the 'teg and currently run in the 'lude.

The WRX sees Amsoil 5w-30 ASL Synthetic with an SDF-20 filter.

This is year-round in MN, btw.
