Luminics Bulbs
Hey, lately i've been seeing a lot of these Luminics bulbs being sold all over the place. I guess they're from japan and becoming more popular over here now. I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these bulbs before. Are they any better then the silverstar 9005 conversion? They come in yellow, ultra violet and ultra white.
Truthfully, I think they look hella badass (maybe because nobody else is sporting them yet). I just got a set of 9006's and I gotta say, they do light up the yellow and white stripes on the street very well. I'm still waiting to test them out in bad weather.
As for the 9005 conversion, I give it a
. Why? Because, since its a highbeam bulb, the beam pattern emmitted doesn't have a nice cut-off like the 9006's do. Instead, it emmits extra light above the cut-off. This extra light totally blinds oncomming traffic.
I just recently had a bad run-in with some redneck on the freeway. Long story, but to sum it up, he basically threw a fu*king rock at my car because I was following him on the freeway for a good time. Of course I almost lost it and tried to go after him, but my lady was with me and she said it wasn't worth it. So I let him go. It was all because my lights were too bright (9005's).
Oh yeah, it wasn't because I didn't adjust them either. If I adjusted them any lower than how I had them, I wouldn't be able to see past 10 feet from my front bumper.
I'd get the yellow bulbs if you like the look. If you want pics lemme know.

umm are you sure you did that conversion correctly? The cutoff comes from the projector housing, NOT the bulb. I had a 9005 conversion for 1 1/2 years and never had any more glare above the cutoff than I did w/ 9006 bulbs.
I highly doubt that guy threw a rock at your car just because you had 9005 bulbs in the projectors, unless you did something wrong and the beam pattern was totally fux0red and throwing light all over the place.
Even my old HID kit in the stock projectors really didn't have any more glare above the cutoff than either 9006's or 9005's.

I've never heard of them. I also tried 9005 Silverstars and they were nice, but I also had one go out after only 4 months, and didn't feel like it was justified to spend $25 on another bulb (when they first came out), when I could get the same amount of light from cheaper Cool Blue bulbs. I had those in 9005 both before and after the Silverstars, and they lasted me 1.5 years as I said above.

Yes I did my conversion correctly Patrick. What other way is there to install the 9005's than to modify the little plastic teeth on the bulbs?
I also had 9005 Silverstars on, and don't get me wrong... they are hella brighter than the stock 9006's, but somehow even after I adjusted them, people still flash their highbeams at me.
And about the faggbag that threw a rock at my car... He probably just wanted to start **** because some ricer with blue bulbs probably cut him off before, iono.

I don't really know but you can give it a try. I notice that the 9005 luminic bulbs has the tip covered and the silverstar doesn't. That might make a difference in the light output.

It says all three of those different color outputs of bulbs are street legal.

How does it compare to Silver Stars?? I've got SS bright white

i've heard that colored light does not work as well as white light in the rain and dark...especially violet...
im thinking about hyper violet.
Thanks,
AG
