Does Gutting worth it?
I have a 97 Civic DX coupe with a 00 Si b16 swap and its stock...
I'm gonna dedicate this car for street racing since i have another daily driver.
Question is is gutting worth it? I plan to stripp the full interior minus the driver seat and dashboard.
I have seen where removing sections of metal in the hood and doors helps with weight reduction so I might implement this as well.
Should I or Not?

do you want to ride in an empty car and have peices of support missing from your hood or not? that is your answer, would you rather deal with the downsides of stripping or the extra weight?? its up to your personal preference....
i gutted my car i dont mind it at all. its alittle loud but hey who cares. my car is even a daily driver so if i guive someone a ride i just bolt the seat back in and go. and pklus its not that hard to put the stuff back in and take it out. just do it see how u like it if not put it back. my crx was just a bunch of pop screws. good luck

You have to consider that your question is stupid to start. You are asking for a bullshit response and there is nothing specific in your question.
How about: Yes you should.
If you do want something specifc, I'll tell you that on an average Honda/Acura every 60lbs less will give you .1 sec off your ET. Probably not exact, but works reasonably well in estimating what you can get.

for a street car guttin is rediculous. ive watched my friend and his brother in law rip out their whole interior at the track and not run any faster. yes its quick and easy to do but it takes 10Xs longer to put it back in.
some ppl say every bit helps, thats true to a point but nothin but the seat inside the car weighs ****. i admit i did it back in the day when i was naive but ive learned now.

it all depends on u...well if u say you have another car for daily driver then go for it...but then again u say u making this car for street racing?? u gotta be kidding me...if u gonna gut the car your better off taking it to the tracks for your own safety reasons...crashing a gutted car on the streets in the public ain't pretty my friend..u could lose your life or danger others over this...think about it
If your coming in a K20 hatch you will dominate.
The Rio Grande Valley (McAllen) is growing but very slowly. Most people still run stock SOHC's with bodykits....lol
There are a handfull of fast cars with swaps but people are still rather slow. Me included with a B16A2 swapped DX Coupe.
The racing is good on Thurs nights...and we do have a nice track bout 10 min away.
Saturdays are in Harlingen (30 min away)
Sundays are in Brownsville (1hr away)
Look me up when you get here and you can run with are crew. We have meets regularly, barbque's, we go out to clubs/ bars...and eat, sleep and breathe HONDA

I dont reccomend gutting, it is loud and annoying, and looks jenky. The thing i remember most is you will hear every ****** grain of salt and specs hitting the wheel well. And it makes your car sound crappy, as if there are little broken pieces and squeaks and allkinds of ****.
gut that biotch! you're in a coupe! forget about taking off pieces from your hood, get a cf hood. dont worry about road noises either, it only gets loud during freeway driving.

yeah don't take it out if you plan on putting it back in.. the only thing i removed from my car was the back seat, plastic inserts on the rear panels (they rattled) and the spare tire/cover/carpet and then the top cover. thats the way i like my car.. no passengers behind me.

just the way i like it... it is all personal preference. you do what you can stand. i drove for over a year with no cd player. it was great. just the motor and the road

strip the interior, and scrape off all tar, take exhaust off as well as wheels and suspension, your ets will be out of this world, dont worry about motor modifications or power upgrades, just gut that **** till you cant! hahaha
gutting is worth it...just make sure you go ALL out. since u have another car to drive..rather than gut it halfway and look stupid...go the full way and be a hardcore enthusiast or don't bother. here's a pic of my ride 1860 lb dx coupe.
