Default Momo/others steering wheel hub question

I've got a question for anyone with the Momo or other hubs for the EF. Where does your hub put the wheel compared to the stock one? Specifically, does it move the wheel closer to the driver?

By feel, my Momo hub positioned the wheel about the same as stock. The amount of clearance in between the wheel and the turn signal/wiper stalks felt about the same too. I never measured the length of the hub or the depth of the stock wheel to compare exact numbers though. If there is a difference, it is very minor.

If you need the wheel closer to you (which is understandable if you have long legs), you can get spacers with the Momo/Sparco hub 6-bolt pattern. Choosing a steering wheel with a deeper dish would also position it closer to you.

I forgot to think about the dish of the wheel. The one I have (that I was originally going to put on my BMW 2002) is dished about 7/8" to the middle of the grip.

Probably too 'vintage' of a wheel style for a 91, though.

That was my experience too. Pretty much "felt" the same as stock, at least when using a Momo hub and Sparco wheel with no dish.

Like Targa250R suggested: spacers and dished wheels help, also the quick-release units on the market will also move the wheel ~2" closer and double in functionality. Your fingers will learn to "reach" the stalks when making turns though.

I'm using a Momo hub and a quick release on a dished OMP wheel. It puts the wheel about 2.5" closer to me.

I'm using a Momo hub w/Nar spec 1" quick release and it's perfect. It's closer to the body but not too far away from the stalks. I think without the quick release, the Momo hub would be about the same distance as a stock wheel, perhaps slightly more.
