My Lude Won't Start, someone please help
I have a 93 V-Tec with 85000 miles on it. Today I went out to start my ca, I turn the key and all my lights shut off and the starter clicks once and then doesn't so anything. I then pull my key out and my aftermarket alarm, which was in the car when i got it, starts to go off. I can bump start the car but thats the only way to start it right now. Any Ideas?
brand new optima red-top, jumping the battery does not start the car either so it won't be the alternator correct? sometimes the starter just keeps clicking
yeah still sounds like an alternator problem to me, you can take it to autozone or something and they can test it
hey its sound like you have a bad connection somewhere or ur starter solenoid is bad
when you started the car did all the power in ur car turn off

Because all the lights in your car shut off, you have a bad connection somewhere. Either to the ignition switch or something.
If it was just the battery, then you would at least have some power to the lights.

Not necesarily. If your battery is low and you suddenly put a big load on it by hitting the starter, it won't have enough juice to keep the lights on. I've seen it both ways with a bad battery, lights that dim and lights that go out completely.

Lights will usually dim with a bad battery. THey may even dim to the point they seem shut off. But when you let off the ignition, they will spurt back on. And not completely shut off. But i guess i misread his post.
