Newbie, question about 96-00 auto tranny
My roomate hase a 96-2000 (didn't ask the year, silly me) and these are the symptoms:
CEL comes on sparatically (on occassion), he says his code is possible powertrain failure, unsure what it is. There is about a 500-1000 rpm variation when he cruises down the freeway (usually runs around 4000, rpms raise/drop during driving), and he says the transmission isn't grabbing at a standstill. Any thoughts?

yeah, I will have to ask him about that, but chances are, he wouldn't know, but from the symptoms, any idea? It sounds like his tranny is gonna go soon to me.
i have a auto tranny here from a 99 ex that i took out alittle over a year ago. worked fine when i took it out. if he needs a new tranny hit me up at "jeffsciv23@aol.com" and we can work something out since i'm in Wa also.
awsome, I will see what all is wrong with his first and if it needs to be changed, I will definetly let him know. Anyone know any local shops that diagnos for little $?

So whatever Powertrain Failure is... is its #, but it doesnt matter much since you already have the name of it.
