Default taking out automatic shift indicators from auto cluster

I am looking to buy a cluster for a 92-95 ex/si but everyone wants 130 or so for them, so i found one for 60 that is for an automatic. Is there any way possible to put in some different gauges or something in there to take out the shift indicators that come with the automatic clusters or has anyone made a shift light or anything out of them? Lets have your opinions.

I've seen people cover it w/ black electrical tape (or something like that). It doesn't look too bad like that.

Only thing I can think of off the top of my head are some gauge overlays for a manual, but you may not want to go that route. I guess you'd have to want white guage faces for that.

Get the auto cluster then just get some overlays for the manual trans cluster and put them on (you know, like the white face or indiglow, or some AC 3D faces...). That will work fine and be cheap. A new fuel/temp gauge for the 92-95 m/t cluster is over $80 at the dealer so going that route isn't worth it.

remove the bulbs fron the back and they will not light up and put black tape on the back to show no light @ nite time.

they don't look that bad in the day time.

I have my auto thing covered with electrical tape also. You really cant notice it unless you look very very closely. Why bother spending the $100+ when a very nicely placed piece of tape can save you some money. I think I paid like $60 or $65 shipped for my cluster.

Here is a pic of it in my car
