Default Magnaflow exhaust :vent: looking for other options

Well..... I thought I did my research properly. I've read plenty of previous threads about exhaust systems and mufflers. The Magnaflow seemed to get good feedback. Most people said they have a low tone and nice rumble.
So I bought one of the 3" in 5" round to go with a Kteller 3" SS kit. Had it all welded together and installed yesterday. At idle it does have a nice sound, not bad........ but damn, I stepped into it a little and heard that fu$%ing ricer rasspy weed eating pissed off bumble bee noise!!! I don't want to put a resonator in b/c it's going to be even more restrictive. Please help, looking for suggestions on what to do or some other brands. Anyone try the Flowmaster Outlaw Race?
Thanks
-Craig

Dude your running 3'', its not going to hurt flow if you put a straight through resonator. It will take away the raspy sound also. Dont get flowmaster, you will be pleased with the magnaflow with a resonator.

If you read about apples, decide your hungry enough to eat an apple, hell you really want the ******* apple. But... when you eat it, you dont take the core out.

And you have a bad time, because you get seeds and **** in your mouth, and apples suck. **** seeds.

APPLES DONT SUCK. You have to eat the apple like every other ****** that said it was good.

well most turbo mufflers are straight thru so they are all gonna be pretty loud the resonator helps alittle it doesn't really restrict too much at all.

do u have a Cat?

How can a resonator hurt so much, its a friggin straight through pipe. Get a short 3" one from magnaflow too and enjoy.

GITWIDIT, I have the ideantical exhaust you have, Kteller 3 inch and magnaflow race series. I as soon as I got it, I was ok, looks like I made the wrong choice...this sounds bad. I put a 3 inch resonator on it and it took out the buzz. After about a month, it seem to quite down further.

I thought it was still gonna sound kind of raspy with everything straight through 3" like that. I have yet to hear a Honda without a cat or resonator that doesn't sound raspy.

I'm not worried about how loud it is, this is a race car that is driven on the street. I just hate that fuggin buzz/rasp noise... no cat BTW.
I really don't want to install a resonator. From what you guys are saying I guess it won't make much of a difference but every little whp counts. I built this car for T4/SFWD. If it wasn't for the NHRA SFWD rules I probably wouldn't have a muffler.

Interesting philisophical insight Plato. Tell me..... If I give you a bannana will you eat it?

Thanks for the feedback guys I guess I need a resonator to make this exhaust sound more like what I want.
Cheers

resonators are not restrictive, they are straight through, and simply absorb/baffle/dampen the sound

Put a good size resonator in there and it will take off the edge.

I have a complete Magnaflow 2.25" Stainless Exhaust with stock cat and resonator... LS motor. Sounds EXTREMEY good.. not like all of the other zingers.. has very good tone. So yeah.. I'd reccomend throwing a resonator into the mix. My brother, on the other hand, has a complete APEXi N1 exhaust with a high flow cat, and no resonator, and in my opinion it sounds like complete junk. Lots of cracking when getting close and into vtec, very high pitched. So, perhaps a resonator can make a huge difference. Go for it.

I have the KTeller 2.5" kit on my CRX. I used a 16" summit glasspack resonator right behind the cat.

It sounds good, imo.
