Help. Door lock broken down.
Hey,
My doorlock on the drivers side has broken down. Ik can stick the key inside but cant turn in.
Now I want to remove the door panel. But how do I have to do that? I losened all screws but there is now movement whatsoever is the plastic??
Anyone has a pic or something, it's an Accord '94.
thnx in advance.

if you have removed all the screws all that is left holding the pannel on is plastic clips, just find an edge and pull hard. They hold pretty well sometimes. Once you get a couple to pop off it is smooth sailing.
The plastic clips mentioned are serated, with the serated edges angled back towards the inside of the car. They are pushed into holes in the metal door panel. As they are plastic, they hold but can be pulled back out with sufficient force. There is the chance that the 'head' of this plastic pin, which is held in the door panel you are trying to remove, may tear out of the panel. If the fibre panel is in good shape, tearing is unlikely, but it is possible. This is the chance you take.
I also had the door lock screw up on a '94 Accord driver door. Turned out to be the electro-mechanical part of the mechanism. I have removed it for the time being, and the driver door lock is now operated manually
