Default Using 195/60/15 tires...

I can get a good deal on a set of 195/60/15 winter tires, I know the stock ones are 195/55/15's do you guys think goin to the 60 would impact driveability?

thanks

I use 195/60 in the winter time and I have never had a problem. In fact, I find the extra ground clearance to be very helpful in the winter time. Here is a picture to show you what it looks like.

Should have zero problems with those tires for seasonal use.

When asking questions like this use the Miata.net online tire size calculator:

http://miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

195/55-15

Sidewall 4.2 in
Radius 11.7 in
Diameter 23.4 in
Circumference 73.7 in
Revs/mi 860.0

195/60-15

Sidewall 4.6 in
Radius 12.1 in
Diameter 24.2 in
Circumference 76.1 in
Revs/mi 833.0

Speedometer reading 3.3% too slow
When speedometer is reading 60 mph you will actually be travelling 62.0 mph

You'll be fine w/ 195/60/15 tires.

I've even ran 195/65/15 tires on my old R for a brief time and it was fine.

Yep, currently running 195/60/15 Nokians without a problem. I don't know if it's the extra sidewall, but the steering does get mushy at 70+mph
