does anyone else get paranoid that their si will get stolen? i have a 92 si with body kits and **** so people might think its souped up i constantly look out my window and im too paranoid to park my car at the mall or movies the car has an alarm but that won't do jack **** if im not around the car haha i know it sounds stupid but is anyone else like this?

Id be more paranoid of it getting egged or laughed at because it has "body kits"

yeah man i know i bought it like that...im planning on taking the kit off and just leaving it with the stock look i think it will less likely get stolen if it looks stock

When people on here talk about their "Si" getting stolen they are usually talking about the 99-00 Si. Those are the most stolen Honda's. Not the earlier ones.

Most of the theives that steal Civics can't tell the difference between a 92 Si hatchback and a 92 dx hatchback. Now, the 99-00 Si has the "DOHC VTEC" sticker, the Si emblem, the rims, and what not. I could do a 99-00 Front end conversion on my car(96 ex coupe), put the badges on and the "DOHC VTEC" sticker, and it would get jacked just like a regular Si.

That **** happened to me when i had a kit, but it also happened to half of my neighbors down the road so i wasnt to bitter

yeah you are right but my car has the si sticker on the back and has a body kit so people will automatically think my **** is fixed up you never know what these thieves norcal will do

Well yours is just a sticker. The 99-00 has that nice bright red "SI" on it. That is what they look for. That and the "DOHC VTEC" sticker.

 

take the sticker off and if u have the stocks bumpers etc put them back on..

no because it locks the wheel, if he drove off it would just drag the tire and eventually burn up and pop. but he would have to brake my steering wheel, and brake my clutch, and then figure out why the car wont start. aswell. so the only option is to tow it, and if i dont hear that **** coming then i deserve to get it stolen.. im lucky to have my car feets from me at home and at work. and i never go anywhere unless i have a view of my car in minutes....

yea im the one out shopping running through the store..haa haa

I saw a guy do the samething. Then he used a jack hammer to take it off and he nearly got shot and then drove away........

 

paranoid? it's just a honda. if you lose sleep over it, then somethings wrong.

 

I think I had some UPS packages stolen from my house tonight. That alone pissed me off something fierce. I can't imagine if someone stole my hatch.

 

i am somtimes. i do have an alarm on my eg hatch though with starter kill and all that.

it doesn't matter if your car looks stock though. my car looks stock, but a lot of people know that its quick.

before you go to bed, do something to the car to where it won't start. take out the ecu fuse or something. my car isn't my daily driver, so i always have my other car parked behind it so it will be hard to get it out of the driveway when i'm away, since i have 3 cars, i usually have one car parked behind the civic when i leave.
if not, i'll take out a fuse or disconnect the dizzy or something so it won't start.

 

I was paranoid with my Type R.....not my civic.....kitted out civics are a dime a dozen

 

i don't know if it would be so much the car, it would be more the motor and the goodies that are on it.

i also have two german shepards by my car
