In my ongoing search for the right exhaust, this would be a great question to get an answer for

your link doesn't work, but i would imagine that any setup that has increased piping diameter will help the motor. i mean, unless this is some harcore track car, i would just enjoy the effective benefits of performance mods.

From what I see there isnt a model for the type r... Im not quite sure if gsr/ls exhausts can bolt up fine. Still the resonators look the same as smps from what I see (you never know if there's different material inside). Also the exhaust is 2.25" not 2.5" like smsps.

Search for threads created by bfitz.

Brian Fitzpatrick (D-Stock Natl champ) posted about his adventures getting a Magnaflow exhaust for his ITR.

IIRC, $340, 8 pounds lighter than stock, louder but still daily-drivable. But he had some problems getting the right part number.

Edit: save you a few clickys:

I have very very positive things to say about Magnaflow. I know several individuals that have gone through 2-3 exhausts and found nothing they liked better then their Magnaflow. I currently run Magnaflow on my caR Rob....i'll take you for a drive at the meet sunday. Its quiet yet efficient and i couldn't be happier quite honestly

Dave actually offered a group buy on these exhaust in the old Best Buy forum. SEARCH is your friend! Think the biggest difference is that these are only offered in 2.25" vs. his are 2.5"+

Plenty of space there...

Ed almost killed me last year trying to stop from a Boosted run in 4th gear

Yeah, T-boning a police car .... really would have sucked!
Never did get the ABS working in that car after the turbo!

Rob, I think Dave once said the Magnaflow model that ends in a 3 is the correct one for an ITR. Ed
