Default T1R Exhaust Questions

I just got my full T1R catback exhaust. Although I had some questions I was wondering if anyone on here could help me answer.

- Is the "S" shaped pipe suppose to to use a flat gasket or a "donut" style gasket?

The one I have looks like it uses a donut gasket, but I was told it otherwise. Was I mistaken? If I am mistaken, what does it connect to - the b-pipe or the muffler? I haven't had time to lift up the car to take a look and haven't taken the exhaust off before.

the bpipe consists of 2 pieces...these 2 pieces connect via a flat gasket
the muffler connects to the bpipe via a donut gasket

The only portion that used a donut on my T1R was the b-pipe to catalyst (testpipe in my case).

Pic of my midpipe.

you have the new full catback version...

the bpipes that are sold still allow you to bolt on various mufflers (spoon, stock) and would require use of a donut gasket...

i guess it all depends on what he has

True.

It seems people are receiving the separate peices together as a "catback". This is the second instance in the last week or so. I assumed he ordered the actual catback system judging from his post...but if it is the individual peices he has the bottlenecked, smaller diameter piping.

I ordered the FULL catback, not the individual pieces. But the b-pipe does bottleneck near the end where I now assume the muffler bolts up to.
So I assume that the stock (and Spoon) muffler will be able to bolt directly to the b-pipe that came with it, since the b-pipe requires the use of a donut gasket?

I'm just a little confused since when I bought it, they told me by buying the full system instead of the individual pieces, I would have to sacrifice bolting my stock muffler up for a TRUE 2.5in system. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

if you bought the full catback then everything is connected with flat gaskets and you will not be able to bolt on another muffler...

what you ordered and what you were sent is another story...

It looks as though I was sent the individual pieces for the piping rather than the full system piping. The muffler I am unsure. Can someone post pics showing the differences between the piping on the muffler? (The part that connects to the b-pipe) I want to see the difference between the full catback muffler and muffler had you bought it individually. Thanks.

I ordered the full catback but got the individuals as well (has bottlenecks). At this point im unsure if the 3rd generation T1Rs are unbottlenecked.
