i have decided to swap out my stock 1.5 cx motor for a sohc vtec and boost it. my options wiht the swap are buy it for 400 repair the head at a machine shop and have my friend do the wiring for me only catch is i have to do the swap which i have no experience with but only pay about 700 or should i pay 1200 have it all done at my friends shop and be out an extra 500 but atleast i know its done right my question is whioch should i do and if i do it myself how hard would it be to swap out my stock 1.5 and swap in a 1.6 what changes as far as mounts axles etc. would i need and is it gonna be difficult since im a newbie at this and possibly do something wrong and mess up my motor?

 

you already posted about this. there is nothing complex about doing a 1.5 sohc to 1.6L sohc, unless there are wiring differences(different obd and vtec,etc) like i said in your last post. i would be hesitant about paying $400 for a sohc with a fucked up head.

 

all that cash just go get a dohc
