i don't understand it why does it misfire??
ok i finally got my b16 to start and to run, here is my problem. when i start it i need to hold the gas petal down until it gets a hold of the timing. and when i let it go it warms up i checked the timing on the dizzy and it is going with the marker on the pulley so it is in timing, now i just got a new plugs wires cap and rotor and still i have the problem. anywhere i can look to see where i am having a problem? how do i know if the dizzy is bad? to explain the problem a little better when i step on the gas it seems like it wants to turn off then it goes but when i let go of the gas it back fires one or two times can someone or anyone help me please?
check this out to make sure you have the correct firing order. also check your cam timing. take a socket and turn the crank pulley to TDC. make sure both cam gears are at TDC as well. your timing belt might be off a tooth or two causing this.http://img18.exs.cx/img18/7701/b16firingorder2.jpg
both arrows are at the up and the crank is on the ttc mark on the pulley the dizzy is in the right order what else could i look for?
the only thing i can think of is you are checking the timing wrong. are you sure when it is flashing it is the three little marks ( ||| ) on the pulley???? you voltage test the TPS??
nope i am checking the three bars on the pulley the tps is set right i had a vafc hooked up to it and the reading was perfect so it opens and closes and the volts go up and down just right. well i was thinking i have a small leak coming from the fuel pressure reg could that be the problem also i am going to fix it tomorrow but i can't see that being the problem but what else could it be? also how do i know if the dizzy is bad? it is sending all the power to the plugs but some still think that it is the dizzy

hmmm. it is kinda hard to diagnose it over the internet without listening and seeing what it does. have you taken the cap off the dist. and see what it looks like inside(make sure it's clean, etc)?
yeah it is clean no dirty no build up nothing new cap new rotor new plugs new cables but i don't think it is my dizzy i have come to the conclusion that there is some kind of vacuum hose somewhere and because of my fuel pressure reg leaking i am sure it has something to do with it. does the pressure from the FPR have anything to do with the pressure of when i step on the gas there is no real back up?
Make sure you dont have your map sensor plug, plugged into your TPS and vice versa. It happned to me once and I had similar problems, switched them around and it worked perfectly.
