Custom exhaust questions/problems
Ok I want to get a 2.5'' catback. But I dont want some giant exhaust either. So I plan on getting the T1R B pipe and buying a ES oval muffler also 2.5''.
I have all that figured out but now comes my question/problem.
What 2.5'' piping can I use to mate the muffler with the B pipe. I know I could always go to a muffler shop and have them fab something up. But I know what ever they have will be crush bent. From what I have heard I do not want to get crush bent.
So is there anyway I can get mandrel bent pipe to mate my muffler to my B pipe?

do this:
when you are out and about, probably on the weekends, watch for the guys in the hotrods...the old cars with built engines, billet wheels and so forth. compliment them on their car, strike up a conversation, then ask them where they had their exhaust done.
this will accomplish two things...you gain credibility from these guys (because they REALLY know their stuff), and you change their perception of you because they realize you are a gearhead with an eye for detail.
i found this back-alley shop doing this. the shop specialized in custom madrel-bent exhausts, but they relied upon word-of-mouth for business.
i pull up in my miata, and their place is loaded with rat rods and musclecars in various stages of restoration. i got weird looks when i told them what i wanted (3" stainless downpipe-back system), but i showed them the engine and explained the power i was running. they got it and it was a cool experience. they even explained how i could save more money if i got the muffler and tip i wanted through summit or jegs catalogs.
they bent and welded me one of the best systems i've ever seen...and it cost me 1/2 what i was going to spend going with an aftermarket system...no stupid 3-piece, flanged system, it was all welded except where the cat/test pipe was.
