Default Well..it's finally gone...

Yep....was picked up today.....Man, I ALMOST cried!!

For the FIRST time in my life, I let someone else drive it! And drive it off!! I never realised how good it looks as an onlooker!

Anyways, moving on, I still haven't decided what to get, but I have two ideas. One of them involved buying a 92-95 Civic Hatchback, dropping a GS-R motor in it and doing it up.

You won't regret it! I bet you'll like it better than your Type R..

Hey willis,

Where do I start? I have a pretty good feeling I'll be able to pick up a B18C engine/tranny, OBD-I and axles. However, I guess I need to worry about engine mounts?

Also, what about shift linkages etc?

I guess I have to do my research eh? I just always assumed the B18C into EG swap was a PnP!!

I seriously did consider selling my left nut instead!!

I dunno if it's just a car. I mean, I really did my research when I bought it, and you almost develop this bond with the car. I tell you when I saw the guy drive it away, I felt like it was an out-of body experience!!

Anyhow, I think I have all the information I need to start on my hybrid!! The shopping begins! I gotta find a 92-95 Hatchback now! I think I already may have a B18C engine waiting for me. Plus, All my old parts off my 95 RS should work, like my sway bars, stage-3 clutch, tower bars and some odds and ends.!

Side NOTE: I had the strangest dream!! I was downstairs by my car, except IT was doing all the talking AND the CAR was Selling ME!!!

If you have any Q's or anything on the '92-'95 Civic B18C1 swap let me know. I've got a '92 CX with the same swap that me and some friends did ourselves.

Good luck. Believe me...you'll love the hybrid! Just don't dump TOO much $$ into it. You'll never get it back out.

You have an IM jonnyR.

Anyways, when looking for a new hatch, I'd say get a 1992-1993 CX or VX. The 1992-1993 Civics had only ONE airbag - LESS weight.

CX and VX are nice and light. DON'T get an Si hatch! I had one and I went through a LOT of trouble just to get rid of it and get my new 1992 CX hatch. Can you say 200lbs. lighter? HA!

I've got an ITR swap and once my sus is up to par with the addition of a good coil-over set-up, rear swaybar, and the FastBrakes 11' rotor and Wilwood 4-pot kit for braking duties, I think I'll be happy.

I love the ITR, but the truth is that you can build an EG for much less money and run as good or better than an ITR at the strip, road course, or the street. I'm not saying it's for everyone, because some people just don't like the hatches.

Here's a way to look at it:

You know what I said about the EG and the ITR, but here's the flipside:

Even though the hatch can be cheaper and perform as well or better, you don't have your warranty, overall tight fit and finish of the ITR, and the value of a hatch is still shitty in the eyes of your insurance co. no matter what you've done to it.

No flames on me please for the EG vs. ITR comments - I wasn't flaming the ITR.

Some people form bonds with different things, especially something that you like. Yeah its just a car, but its not like those cars are readily available all the time.

(FAST94GSR) I was sold CHEAP BTW whose the hottie in your avatar?

B18C5-EH2 - Thnx for the advice. I am definetely gonna pursue it. I should have it mostly built up by around mid summer 2002 if things go as planned and I move back to Toronto.

I am definetely looking at a CX. Plus I have parts left over such as a CM-Stage 3, strut tower bars, sway bars etc.

johnnyr the hottie in my avatar is Lita from the WWF. That girl is bad ***, if you have access to pay per view she is gonna have a special on New Years or something. All her. When you see her body your jaw will hit the ground. She has gigantic boobies! and hard *** body on top of that. I'm drooling just thinking about her, lol.

That's a clean looking hybrid hatch. That's exactly what i'm looking for as my next project. If any of you guys come across something like that for sale let me know. I want to get into something lighter. Thanks
